ABOUT ME & '5 ELEMENT' YOGA......

‘5 Element Yoga’ is the distillation of over 25 years of Yoga practice & Eastern study.

I have trained with acclaimed Yoga elders & teachers, combining these teachings with Traditional Chinese Medicine & 12 years as a Shiatsu practitioner.

 

I am a certified, insured & affiliated Yoga teacher & bodywork, nutritional & lifestyle therapist.

I am passionately informed by combining traditional Yogic principle with the Chinese science of Meridian therapy,

5 Element Theory, of Chakra energetics & of Vipassana Meditation, of Mindfulness & the extraordinary power of breath work, thereby combining them into my very unique ‘5 Element’ Yoga teaching.

 

I have created a Yoga philosophy & style by grouping specific postures, linking them into sequences & exploring our bodies physical & emotional, energetic & seasonal needs. Practising '5 Element' Yoga techniques will enable you to compassionately identify common universal imbalances to assist you to move forward & develop your truest individual potential!

 

'5 Element Yoga' teaches tools to aid anxiety & helps manage stress.

MY GUIDE TO BEGINNING YOUR YOGA JOURNEY.....

I wrote my 6 week EsmeYoga beginners course for ALL Yoga newbies, no matter age, ability, health issues, experience or previous fitness history. Everyone is a complete, unique & special individual, each with personal strengths, each with weaknesses! We ALL start at the beginning, & from that place magic happens!

My inclusive Beginners Yoga Course was written FOR YOU. I offer each student step-by-step 1:1 support throughout.

Plus there's a WhatsApp group for sharing thoughts, ideas, links, videos & other learning tools.

 

Class note taking is suggested, as well as keeping a Yoga diary. There is reading, relevant links & homework. Self practice is encouraged, as is peer support. I limit the class size to 6/7 attendees. This maintains intimacy & fosters harmony between us as we undertake this Yoga journey together…

 

Each student is provided with mats, blocks, straps, cushions & any other supports, as necessary & a certificate of graduation is awarded to each Yogi onompletion!!

There are FOUR groups of people for whom 1:1 Yoga is ideal.....

Do you find it hard to make regular class times?

Would you like to join a group class, but keep odd hours, perhaps caring for others or having commitments that make it difficult to squeeze Yoga into your life? Then you need some 1:1 time to focus on YOU!

Are you getting little respite from coping with life's many demands?  Wouldn’t it be great to be able to stop? To reconnect with yourself, whilst easing out the aches, pains & stresses that build up over time? Ignored, this can affect our physical & mental health. Making time can be tough, putting yourself first might feel impossible, BUT practicing Yoga, learning mindfulness & discovering tools to assist in slowing down, is shown to create a happier & more effective you!


Do you have injuries or health constraints?

Does your body feels 'stuck' & whatever ails you is just not going away? Is it time to work alongside a bodywork specialist & try something new?

 

In Yoga, we work physically, but in tune with our breath. We slow to a pace that eases the body toward change without 'pushing'. We work together to target areas of tension, immobility or pain. Gradually working with gentleness to support our innate ability to strengthen & self heal. This doesn't mean we don't challenge the areas that need it! Specific Yoga postures WILL develop muscles & stabilise joints, introducing exercises to free up stuck emotions, build strength & release muscular tension. I devise a Yoga programme for YOU, depending on exactly what YOU need at a pace suitable for you. Whatever your physical picture is, Yoga will have you back to a balanced self!

Do you find joining a wider class setting off putting?

Another reason many people consider Yoga in a 1:1 setting can be due to self-confidence. The media bombards us with images of lycra clad, bendy people, who put their legs in indescribable places! This has alienated many from believing there is anything Yoga can offer them. If you feel ‘put off’ by joining others, you are NOT alone!

EsmeYoga is accessible to all, no matter what your shape, size, age or previous health history may be!
